Windows Phone 8 can be upgraded to Windows Phone 8.1


Hurray, its a news for Windows Phone lovers, now you can upgrade your Windows Phone 8 to Windows Phone 8.1 on their own devices without any hassle. Microsoft Windows Phone Public Relation director Greg addressed the media with this update. So the immediate question is when we get the update, there is not proper news on the release dates but its clear we need to wait for some time and mostly expected to be release during spring this year.

So its likely all the devices which is running Windows phone 8 will be getting the update, but there are restrictions to device specific. Sources says that all Lumia devices (Lumia 520 to Lumia 1020) will get this update without any issues but the older devices which runs Windows Phone 7 are not upgradable. With this release its expected Microsoft has much enhanced the OS with the feedbacks and the upgrades that makes the device more stable and healthy.



If you are under Windows Phone Developer program, there are likely chances that the upgrade to 8.1 will be available pretty early compared to the consumers.
