Steps to Download Windows Phone GDR3

Ok last couple of days we are seeing about the new Windows Phone GDR3 updates and the list of features and enhancements that comes with GDR3 (refer this post to get clear updates on GDR3), also we have seen the new developer preview program which Microsoft recently launched for the developers. Here arises the question, how to get the update and steps involved in downloading Windows Phone GDR3 update on to your device. As mentioned in our previous post (refer to get clear update on the program), to get the GDR3 before it comes to the consumer you need to be part of the Windows Phone Developer preview program which gives you early access to the updates.

Steps to Download on your device:

Taking into consideration that you have looked into the previous post which says more about the program and the prerequisites that are eligible for the program, follow these steps to get the update.

  • In your developer unlocked device go to store and download “Preview for Developers” app from the marketplace and install in the device. Or navigate to the link http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/preview-for-developers/178ac8a1-6519-4a0b-960c-038393741e96 and download the app.
  • Login to the app with your valid Microsoft account which is registered with Windows Phone dev center and Windows Phone App studio and accept the terms and conditions and finally Enable the Preview for Developers checkbox as shown below.
