In the recent update from Microsoft Security blog, it states that

Cybercriminals often use fake virus alerts to lure you into buying fraudulent antivirus software. These alerts state that your computer or other device is at risk, but clicking a link in one of them could lead you to downloading malicious software. In the case of the fake Java updates, cybercriminals are taking advantage of news about security vulnerabilities in Java and recommendations to update Java immediately.

Oracle claims that a patch is in the works, but this could simply pave the way for more security issues. Java is well known for flaws among computer-savvy users, so as always we recommend not to install the software unless absolutely necessary.

Fix for the Issue:

Microsoft suggests to uninstall all the Java updates from the development machine and run a fresh installation of the Java and the patch which is downloaded directly from the Oracle website and turn on the automatic updates from Oracle directly. .
